Tailor-to-the-rich Michael Reslan, who creates $10,000 suits from his swanky Fifth Avenue penthouse atelier, found himself in less salubrious surroundings when he was arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing a former girlfriend.

Master tailor Reslan — who spent 20 years dressing heads of state and Hollywood stars at Italian fashion house Brioni before starting his private line, and is also a fixture with the power crowd at the Four Seasons restaurant — was nabbed this week for violating a restraining order against a former employee and girlfriend. Reslan has been married to wife Patricia for more than 30 years.

According to law enforcement sources, the 55-year-old Lebanese-born, custom-suit sensation was arrested Wednesday morning and taken to Midtown North Precinct. One source said, “He violated an order of protection for calling a woman 30 to 50 times between Aug. 4 and Sept. 24. The victim is the girlfriend.”

Other sources say Reslan, a US citizen whose real name is Ahmad Reslan, “had been dating a 39-year-old woman on and off for 10 years, but he got angry when she called it off six months ago. He has been calling her repeatedly, turning up at her house.”

Reslan, who modestly describes himself on his Web site as “a humble man with a majestic demeanor,” lives with his wife in Princeton, NJ, but sources say he often spends the night at his 689 Fifth Ave. atelier, sometimes the scene of parties.

He told us last night, “We all have issues, but the beauty is in the exit, and this matter with this lady is over, and I wish the best for all. I didn’t mean anyone any malice.

“I willingly turned myself into the police, and the situation is over. I speak from my heart. I work with many heads of state and I didn’t get to where I am by not being honest and liked.”

Patricia added, “I have no idea who the woman is, or if he has or had a girlfriend. I know about his arrest, but he said it was about something else. We have been married a long time, more than 30 years.”
