Hero SEAL slips into ‘Captain Phillips’ premiere

An anonymous Navy SEAL portrayed in the Tom Hanks movie “Captain Phillips” stealthily slipped into the opening night gala of the New York Film Festival — and went completely undetected, sources said.

The hero made his way into the audience to see Hollywood’s version of the dramatic 2009 standoff between SEALs and Somali pirates after the abduction of American Richard Phillips.

“He was not invited by [distributor] Sony because nobody could know his identity,” said one movie insider of the SEAL.

“But he was there anyway. He wanted to see the movie — he got in.”

The soldier was one of the unnamed sharpshooters involved in the rescue.

Another source said that as the dashing warrior later exited Alice Tully Hall, a few people congratulated him, assuming he was an actor in the film that included some performances by real military personnel.

No word on whether he mingled at a Harvard Club after-party.

Sony did not return a request for comment.
