Kerry Washington is on the cover of the August Vanity Fair, but one detail not included in the profile is that she got quietly married to 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on June 24. News of their hush-hush Idaho ceremony broke yesterday, and few even knew that Washington, 36, and Asomugha, 31, had been dating since last summer. Though Washington’s become a breakout star on her ABC series “Scandal” and in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” she’s kept her personal life on the down-low. She broke up with a former fiancé, actor David Moscow, back in 2007. Asomugha’s an NFL Pro Bowler who’s also played for the Raiders and Eagles. And he’s made some inroads into acting on shows including “Friday Night Lights.” (He also hilariously played himself on Nick Kroll’s Comedy Central show in a skit where he pretended to marry a hapless publicist as part of a fictitious “Punk’d”-like prank program called “You Got Nnamdi’d!” His wedding to Washington was not a prank, as far as we know.) In VF, Washington concentrates on addressing her show and her “socially conscious upbringing.”
