John Mayer dedicates song to Katy Perry

John Mayer opened his new “Born & Raised” tour with a tribute to on-again girlfriend Katy Perry. Mayer, onstage Saturday night in Milwaukee, called Perry “more incredible than I ever thought,” as he talked about how she communicated with him when he was recovering from throat surgery when they first started dating and wasn’t able to speak. “She was so patient,” he said, and she was kind enough “to continue to get know me and love me” despite his inability to speak. He dedicated his last song, “A Face to Call Home,” to “Katy, who is my face to call home.” We’re told Perry was in the audience for the concert. They briefly broke up this year but reunited a month ago. The lovebirds tweeted a picture of themselves hugging on July Fourth.
