Formula One racing legend Jackie Stewart found an interesting way to introduce himself to Martha Stewart.
“The Flying Scot” competed between 1964 and 1973, winning three World Drivers’ Championships. Martha was a guest at a party to celebrate Hammacher Schlemmer’s 165 years in New York at the unveiling of its remodeled landmark store on East 57th Street.
Later the crowd migrated to Le Cirque, where Jackie asked Martha, “How are you doing? Are you firing on all cylinders?”
