Charlize Theron: ‘This is my bitch period’

Charlize Theron may be in mother mode, having just adopted a baby boy, but when it comes to her work, she says this is her “bitch period.”

Theron appeared at the WonderCon convention in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday to discuss her upcoming movie, “Snow White and the Huntsman.” During a panel, she explained why she was drawn to the role of the Evil Queen, the movie’s villain.

“Everyone has an idea of her,” said Theron. “And there’s something nice about (bleeping) with that idea.”

When it was pointed out that Theron excels at playing evil, the star elaborated, “That’s because I’m a bitch. Picasso had his blue period, and this is my bitch period.”

Prior to “Snow White and the Huntsman,” Theron starred in the movie “Young Adult,” playing a 30-something author who attempts to win back her high school sweetheart, despite the fact that he is happily married and has a newborn baby. Theron is perhaps most famous for her role in the 2003 movie “Monster,” in which she played female serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Theron netted an Oscar for the part.

While Theron revealed that baby Jackson is “doing great,” it was clear on Saturday that motherhood has not tempered Theron’s language or her sense of humor. After WonderCon, the actress headed to the Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles. At the podium, Theron poked fun at Michael Fassbender, who did full-frontal nudity in the movie “Shame.”

“Your penis was a revelation,” said Theron. “I’m available to work with it any time.”
