Jessica Simpson may be giving birth to a girl, but she chose to wear blue — blue python print, to be exact — to her star-studded baby shower on Sunday.
While the singer had showed off her pregnant figure for a nude cover of Elle magazine, Simpson chose to cover her up for her shower in a long-sleeve, floor-length dress. With still a month to go, the blossoming star looked like she is nearly ready to give birth. While Simpson — whose new show “Fashion Star” is airing on NBC — has admitted that she looks pregnant with twins, she insists that is not the case.

Simpson and her fiancé, football player Eric Johnson, were the first arrive to the Los Angeles shower venue, which was decorated with pink and yellow balloons. They were joined by Simpson’s sister, Ashlee, who brought along her three-year-old son Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Simpson was also joined by pal Jessica Alba and her daughter Haven Warren. Ellen Pompeo of “Grey’s Anatomy” was also in attendance.
“‘It was a kid friendly shower with many of her friends bringing babies,” a source told Us Weekly. “[Jessica] seemed completely ecstatic”
Guests also appeared to bring ample gifts, as many were spotted carrying multiple bags into the venue.
While Simpson has teased that she and Johnson had chosen a “nontraditional” name for their baby girl, a source told In Touch Weekly that the name was only unusual given the baby’s gender.
“They are going to call her Maxwell,” said the source. “[She’ll be] Maxi for short.”
Maxwell is not only Johnson’s middle name, it’s reportedly the maiden name of Simpson’s grandmother.
Simpson, who has taken to wearing an “M” necklace recently, is due on April 20.
