A Manhattan judge has ordered beer heiress Daphne Guinness to pay her neighbors damages over her famously overflowing bathtub. The style icon and artist has been found liable for flooding her downstairs neighbors’ $12 million apartment at the former Stanhope Hotel, reports The Post’s Dareh Gregorian. Pardus Capital president Karim and Tina Samii said their problems started when her contractors flooded their home. Once Guinness moved in, the Samiis claimed she flooded their apartment three different times when she allegedly left her bath running, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. The couple even claimed they felt “terrorized” by shy Guinness and demanded a court order barring her from bathing again. They later found that flaws in the renovation of Daphne’s stainless-steel floor bathroom had worsened the leaks, court filings claim. Yesterday’s ruling by Justice Richard Braun means there will be a hearing to determine how much Guinness owes the Samiis for the repairs. The news wasn’t all bad for Guinness — the judge rejected the Samiis’ bid for $1 million in damages for “emotional distress” from her. Guinness told Page Six, “All I have ever wanted is to make amends and make this right. I’ve always been happy to pay for their damage, and have already been doing so. I would never intentionally flood their apartment. I by no means want to be a bad neighbor. I have totally waterproofed the place and now it is the safest apartment in New York.”
