Rolling Stone’s Ronnie Wood rips ex-wife over sale

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood is at war with ex-wife Jo Wood, claiming she’s selling his possessions including his prized guitar collection and clothes without his permission. The couple have insisted they had an amicable separation after he had a relationship with cocktail waitress Katia Ivanova. Their divorce after nearly 30 years of marriage was finalized in February 2011. Now Ronnie says he is “shocked” and “disappointed” Jo is auctioning off his items from Stones tours, such as worn leather jackets, a note from Mick Jagger, handwritten lyrics and custom-painted Fender Stratocasters valued at up to $8,000. Items also offered through LA-based Julien’s Auctions include antiques and art from their country estate in England. To make matters worse, the Oct. 27 sale comes ahead of the release of Jo’s memoir that promises to dish on her life as his wife. After the auction house claimed it was a joint sale in a press release, the rocker’s rep responded angrily, “Ronnie was asked by Jo some time ago if he wished to add some items to an auction and he said he did not want to participate. He is therefore shocked and disappointed that this auction is being misrepresented as a joint sale. This is not the case . . . he is staggered that some of the items being offered at the auction are clearly his personal belongings, which did not pass to Jo as part of the divorce proceedings. The tour clothes being offered belong to the Rolling Stones and are not hers to sell. Ronnie feels saddened that Jo has taken this course of action and wants the public to know he has NOT teamed up with Jo on this outrageous sale.” Auction house owner Darren Julien said the Stones’ London-based lawyers were behind the drama. He told Page Six, “[They] are making a bigger deal out of this than this is . . . Jo and Ronnie remain good friends. Separation has never been easy. Nobody has asked for the property back and it is not theirs to take. It was a 30-year marriage and personal property gets divided. I think this is part of the healing process — another chapter in their divorce.”
