Katy Perry is “devastated” after news broke of her ex-boyfriend Johnny Lewis’ death, according to a source close to the singer.
Perry dated Lewis from 2005-2006 and, according to a source, he inspired her single “The One That Got Away.”
“She had to separate from him . . . to get ahead and focus on her career,” a source told Us Weekly. “He was in trouble then and she couldn’t help him. A lot of her songs were partially inspired by him. I know ‘The One That Got Away’ and ‘Circle the Drain’ are partly about him, as well as Travis [McCoy of Gym Class Heroes]. But she was young and it was a time in her life she cherishes.”
“They had good times. It’s really sad. She could never help him and couldn’t [let herself] go in that direction,” the source added.
Meanwhile, the home where the “Sons of Anarchy” actor allegedly murdered 81-year-old Catherine Davis was reportedly used by many other Hollywood celebrities.
TMZ reports that the home is known as the “Writer’s Villa,” a bed-and-breakfast style property with five suites and a guest house. It allegedly rented out for $1,650 to $3,000 per month.
The Web site claims that its prime location near the famous Hollywood sign made it a favorite for celebrities like Parker Posey, Matt Bomer, Chris Parnell, Thomas Jane and Paula Poundstone.
Lewis was discovered dead in a driveway of the Los Feliz property yesterday.
