Gwyneth Paltrow and Graydon Carter ‘bury the hatchet’

Gwyneth Paltrow and Vanity Fair boss Graydon Carter have buried the hatchet after a heated feud over an upcoming profile on the “Iron Man” actress.

Carter reportedly assigned Hollywood writer Vanessa Grigoriadis to profile Paltrow for the Condé Nast glossy, but Paltrow in turn tried to block the piece by e-mailing her high-profile pals with the plea, “Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine . . . If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”

Her staunch stand sparked speculation as to what exactly Paltrow had to hide — and Carter then shot back in October, “We started a story on her. We have a very good writer, and it’ll run.”

He added of her attempts to thwart the article, “She sort of forced my hand.” But Paltrow and Carter have reportedly hashed things out. “They worked out some of their differences,” an insider told US Weekly.

Reps for both Paltrow and Vanity Fair declined to comment.
