Lea Michele wears ‘Cory’ necklace in first photos after boyfriend’s death

Lea Michele has emerged for the first time since Cory Monteith’s death.

Newly-published photos obtained by MailOnline reveal the 26-year-old “Glee” star riding in a car with a female friend in Los Angeles.

The images, reportedly taken on Sunday, show Michele wearing dark sunglasses and her hair pulled back from her face. She was also wearing her silver necklace with the letters “Cory” on it.

Lea has not been seen in public since Monteith’s July 13 death.

The couple, who co-starred on the hit television musical, dated for more than a year before he succumbed to an alcohol and heroin overdose in a Canada hotel room at the age of 31.

The outing came just as Lea released a statement on Twitter thanking fans for their well-wishes during her time of grieving.

“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love &support. Cory will forever be in my heart,” she tweeted.

Lea also shared the Twitter photograph of herself with Cory smiling on a beach.

Cory’s death is apparently continuing to take its toll on the star emotionally and mentally.

“It seems so unfair and impossible to process. She’s furious one minute and wracked with guilt the next,” an insider explained to UK magazine Look recently.

“I think she’s wondering how she’ll ever get over his death – and if that’s even possible.”

Producers of “Glee” have meanwhile delayed filming.

Season five will now premiere at the end of September.
