Joe Francis’ gal pal thanks Vivid CEO for keeping sex tape under wraps

Abbey Wilson, the girlfriend of “Girls Gone Wild” honcho Joe Francis, sent a gushing thank you letter to Vivid CEO Steve Hirsch who kindly bought and returned the couple’s private sex tape that was pilfered off of Wilson’s iPad earlier this month.

The Post confirmed that a “hardcore” sex tape starring Francis and Wilson was being shopped to various media outlets. But thanks to Hirsch, the tape will never see the light of day, TMZ reported yesterday. He apparently bought it from the seller for an unknown amount, then gave it right back to Francis.

In the letter obtained by the gossip site, Wilson – winner of the “Girls Gone Wild” Search for the Hottest Girl in America contest back in 2012 – calls the skin flick peddler a “stand up guy” and a “compassionate, warm hearted, and caring man” for rectifying the situation.

Steve,

Joe has always said what a stand up guy you are in business and what a great friend you are. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Joe and I out in this unfortunate situation. It’s calming to know that we have such a loyal, true friend when an unexpected problem arises. You are a compassionate, warm hearted, and caring man that we are so grateful to have in our lives.

Thank you again,

Abbey Wilson

Francis – recently convicted of misdemeanor counts of assault and false imprisonment – threatened criminal and civil action if the sex tape was ever released.

The video is said to be of professional quality. “I’m a connoisseur of pornography,” he told The Post. “I’m Steven Spielberg when it comes to this.”

Francis and Wilson are appearing on a VH1 reality show, “Couples Therapy,” but he denies he is pulling a Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian porn leak to boost ratings.

“We will never sign a release. You will never see this tape. This is not a publicity stunt,” Francis said.
