Bill de Blasio: Cynthia Nixon for an Oscar

Mayoral front-runner Bill de Blasio joked that his first move in office at City Hall would be to push his ardent celebrity supporter, “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon, for an Academy Award.

De Blasio told a crowd at the Park Avenue home of Evercore Partners’ Charles Myers, a major Barack Obama bundler, on Sunday that as mayor, his goal for Nixon, who “has won two Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, a Grammy . . . would be to nominate her for an Oscar.”

Those at the $1,000-a-head fund-raiser included ex-rival Christine Quinn and Rep. Carolyn Maloney, Andy Cohen and Nixon, who next plays a hard-charging Realtor in the 2014 movie “Life Itself” with Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman.
