Selena Gomez: Lorde doesn’t support ‘other women’

Selena Gomez has struck back yet again at Lorde after the self-proclaimed feminist and “Royals” singer slammed Gomez’s tune, “Come & Get It.”
“That’s not feminism,” Gomez, 21, said in a new interview with Flaunt magazine of Lorde’s criticism. “[Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her.” Uh-oh.

Lorde, 16, dissed Gomez last month, snapping, “I’m a feminist and the theme of her song is, ’When you’re ready, come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.” The teen sensation later added, “I have pretty strong morals and opinions being in pop music, and I can’t help but express those.”
Gomez shot back as the feud escalated, “I appreciate everybody’s opinion… [but] in my opinion it’s not feminism if you’re tearing down another artist. So that’s the only thing that I feel, but you know, she’s young.”

The sexy star of “Spring Breakers” also tells Jeffrey Jah’s Flaunt that she wants to further expand upon her old Disney image with darker projects. “It’s fun to completely go to the dark side,” she said.
Selena Gomez says Lorde isn’t a feminist, because she doesn’t support other women — namely, Selena Gomez.
And perhaps referring to ex Justin Bieber, Selena says, “Obviously I’ve made a lot of mistakes because I’m human and I go through all of it. I do think you do you have to make your own mistakes and they make you who you are.”
Flaunt’s photos by Amanda de Cadenet show Gomez on a bed in sexy black bra and other brooding, more sophisticated looks.
Said Luis Barajas editor-in-chief of the mag, “The story is called ‘Identity,’ and explores Selena’s growing strength as a woman being pulled in countless directions. The story was shot in a defunct downtown LA hotel.”
