Katy Perry isn’t taking the evangelical path of her parents — but she’s still keeping in touch with the big music lover upstairs.
“I try and keep my connection with the G-O-D or with a power that’s bigger than me. It’s important — otherwise, you don’t have . . . accountability,” she told W magazine, which features her on its November cover.
“If you think, ‘Hey, at the end of it all I am just going to be dust,’ or ‘I have no soul’ or whatever, why not just be a menace to society? For me, accountability works,” the singer reflected.
Perry, 28, said her first big influence was “Killer Queen” by Freddie Mercury and Queen.
“I was mostly impressed by his confidence,” said Perry, whose latest album, “Prism,” was released this month.
Today, another rocker sets her heart ablaze — singer-songwriter-guitarist John Mayer, 36.
“I actually am dating my crush,” Katy Perry told W. “I had a crush on him for a long time.”
