Princess Eugenie arrives in New York for art job

Princess Eugenie has hit New York to begin her job at art auction site Paddle8.

The 23-year-old British royal was spotted at a lunch with her new boss Alexander Gilkes and the site’s managing director Thomas Galbraith on Tuesday. She later stepped out with her dad, Prince Andrew, at ABC Kitchen. (Eugenie’s mom, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, was seen Monday schmoozing with George Clooney and Ron Burkle at Cipriani Downtown.)

Eugenie has a degree in art history and previously worked at Christie’s and the Royal Collection.A friend of Princes William and Harry, Gilkes co-founded the site with Aditya Julka, and investors include Damien Hirst, Alexander von Furstenberg and Matthew Mellon.

Although her exact role has yet to be announced, Eugenie should be busy right off the bat: Next week, Paddle8 will host three live auctions in New York — one for the Lunchbox Fund at Buddakan with co-chairs Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liv Tyler and Mario Batali, another for the New York Academy of Art with co-chairs Daphne Guinness and L’Wren Scott and a third of digital art with Tumblr and Phillips called Paddles On!
