Roger Waters calls Christie ‘the fat bloke’ from NJ

Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters said he was impressed by the Hurricane Sandy relief effort — and particularly those of one portly powerhouse politician.

The British rock star said he was “flattered” to be asked to play at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert.

“My way of influencing or garnering hearts and minds is through the songs I write and the performances I do,” he told us. “I can’t go out and kiss babies, though Chris [Christie] — what’s his name, the fat bloke from NJ — seemed really good at it. I thought he was really effective and charming in the aftermath . . . Obama was quite impressive as well.”

“We sort of give the finger to the storm in this movie,” Harvey Weinstein added to reporters at Ziegfeld Theatre on Friday at the premiere of Hurricane Sandy doc “12-12-12.” “It’s like saying to the storm, ‘You can try, but we’ll kick your butt.’ That’s what happened in this movie. The storm loses.”

The film goes behind the scenes of the benefit concert for Sandy victims played by musicians like Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Kanye West and Waters. Others attending the premiere included Alicia Keys, Nigel Barker, Michael Moore and Tony Danza.
