Lamar Odom’s family trying to stage intervention

Lamar Odom’s family and friends want to stage an intervention and bring him back home to Queens amid fears he is “wildly off the rails” on drugs into Los Angeles.

Odom, Khloe Kardashian’s husband of four years, has been using crack cocaine for at least two years, according to TMZ.

But Page Six has learned that his family worry he is also abusing cocaine and molly, the street name for ecstasy, while partying with his LA pals.

“Depressed” Odom, who was brought up in Queens, has been in and out of rehab over the last two months, but insists he can maintain sobriety without going into a residential rehab program.

A family source tells us, “Lamar has been partying very hard in LA, hanging out with his friends and not going home to Khloe. His family and his old friends are trying to get him home to Queens.

“His family is hearing he is doing coke, crack, molly. He and his LA friends are going hard, wildly off the rails”

TMZ reported that as soon as the basketball season ended, Odom, 33, went off the rails with drug use, which prompted a crisis in his marriage with Khloe.

The NBA star checked into a rehabilitation center following a DUI charge in early September only to check himself out just one day later.

He met up with Khloe last week when he went to their Tarzana home. TMZ reported he told Khloe he’d been “sober for three days and planned to stay sober on his own…without going to rehab.” Khloe reportedly told Odom he was in denial and needed to check into an inpatient program.

Meanwhile, Odom has been insisting he will be clean and healthy for the start of the basketball season. The LA Lakers say that if Odom, 33, entered a rehab center and got clean, they may have a spot for him on the team. The Clippers, who re-signed Odom for last season after his stint at the Dallas Mavericks refused to re-sign him because of his abuse of drugs.

Meanwhile in the latest episode of her family’s E! TV show Khloe admitted her estranged husband is a “a very depressed person”

Odom was born in South Jamaica, Queens. His father was a heroin addict and his mother died of cancer when he was 12. He was raised by his grandmother Mildred, who died in 2004. He still has an extended family and many old friends in Queens and New York, but has a difficult relationship with his father.

During Sunday’s episode Khloe became frustrated with a string of “bugging out” phone calls from her husband, who was away on a basketball training camp.

She said, “There is a lot of emotional issues I think that Lamar has.

‘I do want to help or cater to Lamar but also there is only so much anyone can take.

“Lamar is a very depressed person, which is sad but understandable with everything that he has been through in his life.

“I do love Lamar with every ounce of who I am but it is really scary when someone is in such a deep low and you know they are relying on you to get them out and you are trying and trying and trying and nothing is really working.”
