A fake James Franco has been the toast of the Toronto Film Festival.

Franco wasn’t at a bash for his movie “Palo Alto” on Friday, but a doppelganger guest had others convinced he was there.

Vince Jolivette, a producer on the film, was so astonished that he insisted the faux Franco meet the real McCoy, and invited him to a party for yet another Franco film in the festival, “Child of God.”

“Vince thought it was hysterical,” said a spy. “The fake James Franco was posing for photos with girls [who thought he was the real one]. He was walking around, talking to people, eating, drinking. He was the toast of the town.”

Two nights later, Vince and faux Franco were spotted at LiveStyle and charity Art of Elysium’s after-party for real Franco’s Cormac McCarthy adaptation “Child of God.”

“Fake James came to the party and met the real James,” said a spy.

Gucci separately threw a cocktail party and private screening for yet another Franco project, the documentary “The Director,” at the Thompson Hotel, but there was no sign of James Fake-o at that one.
